An interesting adaption of elements of the old Gaelic traditions into a modern Breton tradition. Jakeza sings Breton songs and poems by prominent 20th century Breton poets. Violaine, playing a replica of the Queen Mary harp, uses ceol mor style variations to accompany her.

A solo recording; Violaine plays her replica Queen Mary harp in a selection including old Scottish harp tunes, traditional Breton music and Irish dances. She also sings on two tracks; one a Gaelic waulking song, and the other an interesting experiment, playing a Highland pibroch learned from a piper, and simultaneously singing the cannteraichd during one of the variations. A delightful record full of startlingly well-executed figures and phrases.
