Peter Berry
Durdabhla - Murmur of the Wild Apple Trees
Peter Berry, from the West coast of North America, is a harper and storyteller. This CD presents a selection of solo harp music and spoken-word English-language storytelling with harp accompaniment. Peter plays a big modern Dusty Strings lever harp as well as an early Gaelic harp made by Peter Kilroy in Kenmare, Ireland. This recording only features the Kilroy harp on three tracks, but it is of great interest as I don't know of another CD which uses a Kilroy harp - indeed I don't know of another one of Kilroy’s instruments at all except for Peter’s. The programme has quite a mystical ambience, with the apple trees, the voyage of Bran, and two poems by W.B. Yeats. The CD is presented in a slim card wallet, with no publication date or record label information.
