James Logan The Scottish Gaël Inverness, 1876 This 2-volume work is a treasure-trove of information about Highland life and customs. Logan set out to prove that the Highlanders were the descendents of the ancient Celts, but he also gives a huge amount of detail about daily life, clothing, war, dress, arms, food, agriculture, music and arts. There are many charming engravings and four pages of musical notation as well as an interesting discussion of music and instruments. I have available a modern paperback facsimile in 2 volumes, by John Donald. £50 + £4.50 (UK only - select for overseas postage) £7.50 (Airmail within Europe) £10.00 (Airmail outside Europe)
