Books by Edward Bunting

Edward Bunting
The Ancient Music of Ireland
Hodges & Smith, Dublin, 1840
Available for sale is a first edition copy of this important source book. This is an ex-library copy, and has stamps and labels to the front endpapers, and stamps to the title pages. The spine has been replaced, with the original backstrip glued down onto the replacement spine. The boards, embossed green cloth with gilt harp and shamrock designs, are quite worn and water-damaged, but the inside of the book is pretty clean and in good condition - only a little water damage at some page edges. One of the tunes has a handwritten annotation in a 19th century hand. All the plates and pages are present as far as I can see, including the three plates of the Trinity College harp.
