This CD was produced by Nancy Thym with the International Historical harp Society. The idea is to give a chronological taster of harp music from early medieval times right up to the 19th century, using a wide selection of tracks taken from various performers' CDs. Although somewhat disappointing for the harp cognoscenti, perhaps this record is best after all for what it was designed for - to give to a complete novice who has no idea that any historical harps exist, and to show that there is a diverse and intriguing world of historical harp musics out there.
