This lovely 6” 45rpm EP in a picture sleeve is the first in a series of four. You can read about the whole series on my Recordings pages. The record contains three tracks, "the Sea", "The Sound" and "The Lochan", all Heloise's own compositions, played on a Clark gut-strung lever harp with wordless singing. A more abstract development of her earlier classical style. Heloise was an important pioneer of Scottish harp playing, recording in 1933 and owning a Dolmetsch early Gaelic harp with metal wire strings.
